TWO-DAY SUPERVISORS COURSE
Who should attend?
Individuals who are either currently, or who will soon be, performing the role of a Supervisor of Registered Individuals within the Financial Services. Whether at Adviser, Supervisor or Management status, if you intend to undertake the role of a Supervisor you will need to be appropriately assessed as competent, and to provide evidence of your on-going competence.
Course Content:
This intensive two-day course is designed to be interactive and encompass the key modules within a core syllabus for Supervision skills assessment. The content of the course is specifically aimed at ensuring that core generic Supervisor skills are developed and understood. It includes: the skills for effective assessment, coaching, mentoring, training & communication. Day two focuses on the normal requirements for monitoring, recording evidence and developing knowledge and skills specifically for the company's 'firm specific' requirements - tailor-making appropriate sessions - and to include a test to measure the competence standards achieved.
During the course, there are specifically designed activities, which will enable participants to develop their own personal skills, as well as focusing on the skills of their Registered Individuals.
Dates and Venue:
These courses are held by experienced professionals in the industry and can either be held at local training facilities, where tea/coffee and a buffet lunch are also included. Or, if you have adequate facilities, they can be held in-house. A detailed Workbook is provided in each case.
Key Features of the Annual Supervisor's Assessment
These meetings will assess an in-house supervisor on their continuing competencies as a Supervisor and as a RI. They will be assessed in the following areas, Monitoring, Training, Coaching and Assessment skills and the ability to enhance other individuals under their supervision. In addition an assessment of their ability to demonstrate the skills required of a Competent Designated Individual of the company.
The aim of the assessment is to meet regulatory requirements for annual assessment and to identify any shortfalls in existing supervisory or RI skills. Following the assessments a written report will be produced for the Compliance Oversight, highlighting any development needs that have been identified.

The content of the day is specifically aimed at ensuring that core generic supervisor skills are enhanced and developed to meet the regulators requirement for ongoing development of Supervisors.
The day is specifically designed to include activities, which will enable all participants to develop their own personal skills, as well as focusing on the skills required to develop the registered individuals who they are responsible for.
